Another alternative to set point.
I noticed yesterday that around an hour before dinner, I was hungry enough to eat. Had I not being doing SLD, I'd have gone ahead and chomped down a snack, say 300-500 calories. But I'd still have eaten dinner an hour later when my wife called us all in to eat. However I didn't eat the snack. But it was not because my appetite was suppressed but rather because I'd consumed a chunk of oil less than an hour previously and I didn't want to break the one hour rule.
So maybe at least part of the effect of SLD has nothing to do with consuming anything. Maybe it's partly due to nothing more than the enforced 2 hours minimum gap between meals. That aspect certainly saved me a few hundred calories yesterday.
Meal spacing; plausible?
