Progress on the Shangri La Diet 15th August 2011
Progress check after Thirty weeks on the Shangri La Diet.

As well as my daily chat in the "My SLD Page" section I also post here every six weeks (or so! I think I've lost a week counting somewhere). Here goes. Headline loss of 55.8 pounds, an average of 1.86 pounds per week. I have been experimenting a little and did a "reboot" to try different oils to see if they had a different effect by taking each for 21 days each. I also had a holiday for the last two weeks and eat out a lot.

I'm in the middle of a plateau as you can see by comparing this to the update six weeks ago.

Im taking general vitamin supplements, with extra calcium and vitamin D - a test earlier in the year showed I needed Vitamin D.

Thanks for the update. At the risk of sounding preachy & repetitious, let me predict the future: Eventually your weight loss will stall. You may even regain a few pounds. At this point there is no need to despair. You can use the same ideas you have used to lose 50 pounds to lose plenty more weight. It just gets more complicated. I think the secret to going beyond what's in the book, SLD 2.0 you could say, boils down to three things:

1. Noseclipping sufficient calories.

2. Choosing beneficial fats to noseclip (so you can noseclip plenty of calories).

3. Figuring out which of the ordinary foods you eat are the most fattening and either nose-clipping them or eliminating them.
