I wondered if you could help with this question...
I am 3 years post op RNY gastric bypass and am new to SLD - I know that a percentage of the food I eat malabsorbs (it's not clear how much accurately as the body does tend to adapt to the changes in the gut apparantly and it's better at absorbing as the years go by).
I was a bit tentative about having so much oil (fat) at any one time in case my system didn't like it but didn't have any adverse effects until the last 2 days. I have taken my ELOO (with water and nose clipped) and within half an hour of having it I've had gripey stomach ache and then need to go to the toilet urgently, where I have very loose stools (all oily - sorry
) and am a bit concerned that my body will be getting rid of the oil too rapidly.
Do I need to allow for that when dosing myself - and add more than I'd usually have - or will it just come straight back out again?
I have been doing my 3 hour window (so to speak) before breakfast and then do the school run - I can't begin to imagine how grim that would be if I'm going to be sensitive to the dose and react so quickly toiletwise with it and I may then have to adjust the convenience (no pun intended) of being near a toilet just in case.
So... dosage - if I am malabsorbing, what should it be? I am 197lbs and have been taking 3tbls ELOO previously with no ill efffects until the past twice of taking it (I prefer once a day to get rid of it asap!)
