180 second rule
« on: June 21, 2011, 11:12:08 AM »

Not sure where to post this....  Several times now I tried to post something within 180 seconds of my last post which apparently is not allowed.  Then I wait and try to post again.  Then it says I just posted that post so it won't post it.  So I have to change the post and wait 180 seconds.  Can we get rid of this 180 second thing?  After waiting, sometimes I don't go back to what it was that I wanted to post.

Yes, in effect, we're often required to wait much longer than 180 seconds to post. It can get kind of frustrating. :)

There does seem to be more spam, yes. If the increase in spam continues I will have to increase that parameter.

Thanks, Numpty.

Because of an increase in spam, I am going back to two old settings: long time required between postings (right now 2 minutes); and difficult passwords required.
