Then I had breakfast and for the first time in my adult life I had a regular human breakfast. I ate a sufficient amount of food for a regular size human. And I was full. -- Morex

Coughs that go on that long generally aren't just regular coughs and may require antibiotics.  There's one particular bug called mycoplasm, I think, that my kids had.  Went on for ages, caused coughing so hard they would retch, and responded only to Erythromycin (which, BTW, is really hard on the stomach - if you take it, be sure and have food with it).  You might want to get yourself and your wife to a doc and check it out.

Thanks for the words of support - you are both right, though I don't like going to the Doctor because it is hard to get an appointment that fits in with work - and it can take over a week to get an appointment (but those are just my excuses of course!).

239.6 today - I hadn't realised that I was beginning to nudge into the 230's - the display on my scale is either Stones / Pounds or Kg and it is only when I upload to my PC that I see the total Pounds figure.

Encouraging news is that my wife reports her sore throat has gone - my cough is going, I'll be glad to see the back of my sore throat. Yay!

239.4 today, not bad after a long weekend to do some motorcycle riding - which meant a whole change of food and routine.

Cold / Cough etc is shifting and back to work so routine might help get some more weight off. Saw 238.4 over the weekend so quite hopeful I can see that again this week.

238 today, a great first day back to work - mind you it is a short working week for me!

Not far from my personal milestone of 6 Stones weight loss i.e. 84 pounds.

And after visiting my younger brother last weekend I've bought a 16Kg kettlebell, must be careful not to drop it!

Exactly the same at 238 today - I'd really hoped to hit my target but with weight loss it isn't like clockwork! With aches and pains from my motorcycling (was out on track on Tuesday) and a little play with my new kettlebell, I've probably given my body a bit of a shock to work on.

Weekend soon - yay :)

Hovering about the same weight but on to another cold now (harrumph). Had lunch with a couple of colleages yesterday at a local place we've eaten at before - ordered my "usual" burger and chips and could only eat the burger - completely filled up.

Now that's AS - :)

Hey, seems like you are making pretty good progress. Do you add in exercise or deliberately restrain your eating?

I've been doing this (for the second time) since May I think and I haven't lost an ounce!

Hi,

Thanks - I have a pedometer and try to get at least 5,000 steps a day but this was something I started before SLD. As was an effort to deliberately restrain eating - so I was doing both.

SLD allows me to keep to this and to lose weight when all the other factors are working.

I've been on and off to the gym but if I try too hard I stop losing weight so I'm taking a holiday from that albeit I'm thinking about exercise again to try to get a bit stronger. I'd expect to stop losing weight that way though.

My method at the moment involves a protein rich breakfast (a mix of whey / milk / egg protein powder + flaxseed & vitamins) with fibre added, lunch is chicken and vegetables and apart from coffees and the odd cookie I don't have anything apart from a rather large (6 tablespoons) dose of ELOO. Weekends are a bit more relaxed for social reasons.

I started with a lot less oil but it appears my body changed. 6 Tablespoons is also a lot but perhaps coincides with my lowish-carb approach.

Holding steady at 237.8, still fighting a cold which is just one of those things. It means that I've been pretty flat for about 6 weeks.

Hovering just above my goal of 6 Stone off, or 84 pounds off :)

I've put a few pounds on after a pizza and some other carbs. Sore throat has gone and just in the latter stages of shifting my cough, then I'm hoping I'll settle back down.

Pretty chilled otherwise :)

your progress is pretty fantastic, and inspiring.  Thanks for keeping a record of it, I am slowly making my way through your journal, looking for insights.  Congrats on your loss.

Cheers and thanks - some posts are a bit brief but you'll see that my weight has gone down at different rates and sometimes I've exercised and other times I have not.

It has made a huge difference to how I look, my clothes and mobility. And been pretty easy with SLD.

Mostly, I am really interested in not be limited in what I do by what I weigh.  I don't aspire to be gorgeous or sexy, more attractive would obviously be acceptable, but I don't think of myself as unattractive, and even at my best, sexy just seemed silly and fake so never interested in that.  Increased mobility, on the other hand, is something I very much desire.  It is what motivates me.

And after a big blip I crashed back to 237.8 pounds this morning, and I mean crashed. I'd bounced up to 241.4 on Monday and this had gone down to 240.4 yesterday. Then today which was a bit strange.

Previous experience says I might rebound slightly but hopefully this means my cold etc is diminishing and I'll be able to get back to a bit of fat loss. I've still got this belly which I would like to get smaller before I start back to the gym. What was different ? I delayed my evening oil, and limited what I eat after that, and went to bed earlier.

You'll also know that things are back on track when I start posting more regularly :)

I don't tend to get whooshes like that anymore.  Used to be the first week of any new "diet" would give me 8 to 10 pounds, but I am more careful about not letting myself hold water weight, so it doesn't happen now.  Congrats
