News:

I came across SLD last weekend on the Freakonomics site. I decided to try it and WOW. I have never known anything like the AS effect I get from 2 x 20ml canola oil (known as rapeseed oil in the UK). I've tried various prescription drugs and non-prescription supplements for AS in the past - nothing comes close to this. I can turn down junk food even when it's literally handed to me on a plate - for me that is HUGE. -- sld uk

So back in October, when I lost my first 10 pounds, I bought a cheap pair of jeans two sizes smaller. They didn't fit then, but I hoped they would eventually.

I am wearing them right now, while doing laundry. They're a little tight, but they do fit on me. It won't be long before this will be a good fit.

This is so cool. :D

Sorry for the late reply, because I am actually really excited about your "news" ("news" because it's not news anymore after a week.. sigh)! Congrats! :D

So how are you now? :)

Excellent :) I was out on my motorcycle last weekend for the first time this year and my "custom fit" kit that was always too tight around the waist zipped up completely for the first time ever.

Remember to tell us when your jeans fit :)

Wow!  Motorcycling already!!  I'm so jealous.  We are months from motorcycling weather yet.  Today it's -12C, with winds gusting over 60km/h and snow on the ground - nasty!

Congrats on the leathers fitting (or is it Cordura?)

Cordura - it can rain all year round, and on a trip it is bound to rain at least once!

Terrific! :D

The jeans have a little stretch to them, so they fit better if I wear them more than one day before washing. :)

I've decided to get a couple more inexpensive pairs of pants this size in anticipation!

My AS is great right now, but I am seriously craving flavor. At a friend's suggestion, I took a challenge to drink only tap water during Lent and contribute any money saved on beverages to a charity that brings clean water to places that need it. I'm finding it's remarkably tough for me to go without the calorie-free flavors of coffee and tea, even though I'm not hungry. Wild.

Wow, that is a BIG lenten challenge!  I don't know that I could do it.  Good for you for taking it on.  Good luck with it.  I expect you will learn interesting things from the process.

Tough one, I find I am drinking more coffee at the moment. Though this may also be because a move of office means we are nearer to the local coffee bars.

I wonder if I can, honestly! It never occurred to me it would be this difficult. Apparently calorie-free flavors are as much a part of SLD for me as flavor-free calories!

I think I'm missing something. What is Lent?

I drink water all day, I never drank enough - it always took tremendous willpower to make it to 1.5 litre, but for the last few weeks I've been drinking 2 litres or more everyday! :D I really love a cup of tea in the morning and in the evening though. Especially with some honey, hmm.. :)
