The best thing that has happened is that I no longer get SO hungry that I feel like I am starving and have to eat a cheeseburger right away or suffer a horrible death. Tha's what being hungry has felt like for the last three years. Now when I get hungry it feels a lot more normal and it never involves McDonalds. -- peazazz

Mantra chanting:

I am following Dr.Pillai's (Siva Baba's) posts and blog nowadays and I came across this very interesting video on chanting mantras (phrases) to control appetite and weight loss.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-8ECbjJfXk

Chant "kanta koope kshut bipasha nivrutti"

I tried it out as follows. Day 1, I chanted the mantra for 1-2 hours in the morning, while reading the newspaper and doing some other routine work. After some time, I lost my appetite. I closed day 1 on less than 800 calories, which is a 30-40% decrease from my regular consumption. Day 2, I chanted for around half hour, and my AS continued, and I again ate much less than normal that day.

I look forward to other people's feedback on this. It is pretty effective, try it...its very simple, you just have to chant a phrase for some time daily.

Dr.Pillai is a Mind Control specialist, and he has a very interesting free program on twitter for developing super-normal powers. I have joined the program. I hope more people will benefit from the divine tools he teaches.
The free program is at:

Yayy!!! Steady at 57 Kgs now. :D :D

Haven't been this number in a long long long time!!
:))

I really recommend people try this, it is so easy!!
Just chant 20 mins everyday, whenever you can, say in the mornings during your routine, and see the magical appetite suppression that sets in! (It's a holy mantra, so dont chant in the loo). You don't have to chant it loud, u can chant mentally.

You can chant mentally while driving, doing housework etc...my experience is that if u chant the mantra even without concentrating on the throat for the full time, it still works beautifully.

It may take a day or 2 of chanting this mantra (around 20 mins each day) for appetite suppression to set in.

The way this mantra works is that its a spiritual tool to break ur addiction to food, so cravings disappear, and you get an opportunity to respond to just real hunger.

It's so incredibly easy...people DO try it!

YAHOO!! YAHOO!!! YAHOOOO!!!!

56.5 kgs!!  :D  :D

Last time I saw this number was 4 years ago, on my way UP!

Awesome easy weight loss with mantra chanting.

Its funny how an exciting scale weight can fill me with so much happiness, energy and enthusiasm, while an unfavourable scale weight can make me angry with the rest of the world LOLL!!

Feeling rather confident that this struggle-less MAGIC decline will continue... I think once I get to 55 Kgs, I will see how I look and feel and reassess my goal weight...

I shall have to try the mantra, IG.

Congratulations, IndianGirl!  That is indeed a great accomplishment.  I'm sure the chanting does even more than just make the pounds melt away - meditation makes you happy!

I'm having touble with the mantra, I chant it two or 3 times and then my mind wanders away... typical of me... I can't focus. My mind is like a merry-go-round, always has been, I can even think of several things at the same time, and the worse part is when some of the thoughts go faster than others, I even get nauseated. Is there any tip to stay focussed on the mantra?  :?

Pink,
1. Chant aloud as it will be easier to continue chanting if u r chanting aloud.
2. Fit the mantra to a favorite tune or nursery rhyme. Sing the mantra aloud in that tune. This will be enjoyable, so you will be able to do it longer.
3. Keep reminders of the mantra all over your house, place of work, car etc...eg on the laptop screen, on the mirror, in ur kitchen, on the fridge, next to ur clock etc. If you dont want to write the entire mantra, then u could make it discreet by writing the alphabet 'k' maybe, which could represent the mantra. Every time u see a reminder, chant the mantra a few times, so over the course of the day, you will complete 20 mins of chanting. (Of course its best done 20 mins in one go, but if that is not happening, then this could be an option).

4. Best is sit in a quiet dark room by urself with ur eyes closed, focus on ur throat and chant aloud in ur favorite tune for 20 mins. If u happen to forget and stop, then you will soon realize (after all you must be sitting in a dark room with ur eyes closed for a purpose...) and without getting aggitated about the lack of focus, simply pull ur mind back to the chant. Its ok if while chanting aloud ur mind is running a parallel series of thoughts, that's how it normally happens for most people. Over a period of time, maybe months, ur thoughts will become fewer and it will be a very relaxing experience.
5. The best part is that it takes just a few days of practice for the mantra to get ingrained in your mind. If u chant in an interesting tune, then it will keep popping up again and again in ur mind throughout the day, and you will find urself chanting automatically. :) Thus it will become effortless.

Great tips IG! Thank you ever so much!
I wrote it on the fridge as the pronunciation isn' t exactly what you'd suppose it to be based on English.
So I wrote it as it sounds.
Since I don't have 20 minutes  to sit in the dark everyday,,, not even 5... and besides I'm not especially fond of darkness except when I have migraines, i tried several tunes to adapt to the words, and after just 3 or 4 I found out that it fits very well into Summertime!! (The Gershwin one).
Summer time........... kanta koupe
and the living is easy ........... shut bipassa nibrutti
etc.
 8)
Focusing on the throat is important huh? A FB friend who's a Buddhist and knows a lot about mantras said it's not the meaning of words  that matter, it's their vibration. Hmmm.

I can feel the vibration in my throat when I say kanta koope.  I repeat it until I feel it as a small lump, like a dried date that's stuck.  Usually it takes three times to feel it.  For hunger I envision a rotating giant soft scrub brush in my stomach cleaning out anything there and sending it on its way so it can bring energy to my hungry cells.  I say kshut several times until I feel the scrape of the bristles.  With pipaasaa (or bipasha, depending on who says it) I feel moisture along the path that water takes on the way down, imagining it refreshing a parched throat at the top.  And then nivrutti, I imagine the lump in my throat is gone, and feel tiny sprays of energy, bursting out to all my cells and pulsing outside in a mushroom of colorful drops of light.  A reverse skittle rainbow, lol.  That occupies me sufficiently that my mind doesn't drift.  Then I can say it without having to repeat any sections.
