Genes Point to Best Diets
« on: March 05, 2010, 02:31:51 AM »

this is just to shed scientific light on what we already know - no diet fits all

as for me I'm positive I must go the moderate/low-fat avenue

Interesting article, but you have to have a paid subscription to get the full article from the Wall Street Journal.  Here's the same study reported elsewhere for free.

Hah, funny, I first read the WSJ article without subscription, now when I try again I can't... bad choice, there were several links on the same study at google news.

I saw news about this online and hope it leads more people to accept that low carb may be what's right for them. It would be interesting to take the test to confirm what the glucose testing is telling me, but $149 seems like a lot just to satisfy my curiosity.

yes $149 dollars is a lot.
i was thinking a bit about it and i'm thinking more and more that i must be in the unlucky 16%.    whenever i tried the cream  it didn't work, likewise the coconut milk.  and even when i'm doing lo-carb  really well  i have to be careful with cheese etc....

"However, it couldn’t be ascertained which genes were responsible for weight loss. That possibility will have to be addressed in further research, the researchers stated."
I just can't imagine what could happen if this research came with good results! then we can eat what ever we want and the weight loss gene will do the good work for us LOL

Thanks a lot for this interesting article.
