Okay, there is this program I work with at work, and the programmers are lots of fun (and believe it or not, they're all accountants, so its even stranger!), and on the main page of the program they have a bit set aside for a monthly puzzle, some of them are way too hard for me, some of them are super easy, and some of them, like this one, are frustrating at first, but oh so rewarding to finish.
But if you try this out, you must be able to have a few minutes to sit and think and preferably have a piece of paper and pencil handy so you can figure this out, I wouldn't try doing this if your phone is ringing off the hook or something like that. But for those who are interested in this kind of thing (and really I don't know if any of you are, but I found this to be fun, so I figured someone else here would too) here goes:
There are 5 differently colored houses all in a row. Each house has a different nationality living in it, a different pet, a different beverage of choice and a different make car. So who owns the fish?
Brit lives in a red house
Swede has dogs
Dane drinks tea
Green house is next door left of white house
Green house owner drinks coffee
Honda owner rears birds
Yellow house owner drives dodge
Center house owner drinks milk
Norwegian lives in the first house
Ford owner lives next to the cat owner
Horse owner lives next to the Dodge owner
Chevy owner drinks soda
German drives a Toyota
Norwegian lives next to blue house
Ford owner lives next to water drinker
If you need a hint you can message me but I don't know how long it will take for me to reply after today, and I can't guarantee I'll give you a worthwhile hint . I'll try to post the answer on Tuesday, hopefully that's enough time for people. If you think I should give more time, please reply and say so.
Also, don't post with your answers, that would, of course give it away. I suppose you can message me with the answer and then when I post the answer I'll say who got it right. That and self satisfaction are the only rewards you'll get !
