I have been doing SLD for a few weeks now,however I my fiance has no idea.  I plan on telling him once the weight lost becomes visible. Is this strange?

No, I did more or less the same thing. Even my roommate doesn't know.

For me, I think it's that SLD just sounds crazy. I'm a rational, skeptical person, and gulping down oil to lose weight is so counter-intuitive that it instantly starts the fad-diet alarms ringing. So I'm pretty self-conscious about it.

But if it works, who cares?

I think people have MAJOR problems with the SLD concept, apart from the gross out factor of drinking SW or ELOO or other methods, people just don't understand how or why it would work, and for some reason, their reactions aren't always the best.  So I think its perfectly acceptable to not advertise what you are doing if you are worried you'll get a bad reaction out of someone.  And besides, its much easier to convince someone that it works once you've lost weight than before you start losing!

Ok good to know,I am not one to keep things from someone I love but i know he would probably think I was strange lol.

My husband thought I was strange BEFORE I started drinking oil.

LOL, Karky your husband and my bf think the same apparently.  Personally I think we're both perfectly normal people, everyone ELSE is strange!

MsSara81, the only problem you may have is if your fiance catches you in the act of taking oil or sugar water.  Or if he notices that you aren't eating very much.  I didn't tell my family right away and my mom was concerned that I was anorexic (yeah right) when I couldn't eat more than a slice of pizza or very small portions at her house one night, so I had to tell them about it.  My mom is STILL to this day concerned that I'm being unhealthy (though every so often she says that she thinks she should try SLD too), so even after seeing me lose 50 lbs, she still isn't totally convinced!

Goblyn very intresting about your Mom lol. Oh yeah if he does catch me I will come clean.  So far AS is taking its time but its comming on,for example this morning I had a large cup of coffee and a few
slices of watermelon and I was full.  I did eat to much yesterday but I think to be honest that was out of bordem.

I have a bit of an update...I have finally started losing weight...I'm down 2 lbs...When I hit the 15 lb weight lost mark I am pretty sure I will tell him unless he sees me down oil befor that lol.

Good plan! I'm curious if he will see you've lost weight before you tell him or not ^^
(as far as I know though, guys don't usually see weight loss right away lol .. silly guys)

My girlfriend still doesn't know (and I've lost 20 pounds on it!)
