News:

The wonderful thing about SLD is that you don't have to actually restrict yourself.  There has never been a point during the last 6 months where I felt like I was being restricted in what I could eat.  I have been eating healthier, for sure, but that's a side effect of the AS for me, not because I'm trying to avoid "bad" foods.  And there are plenty of times when I eat the same old crap I always used to eat, just much much much less of it! -- goblyn

I know I rarely post these days (things going reasonably well, and not much new to report), but I couldn't resist citing this news item demonstrating that not everything that can be done is necesssarily worth doing.

A personal trainer (who was formerly an underwear model) is deliberately stacking on the kilos on a junk food regime towards a goal weight of 120kg (265lb) -- up from his model-days weight of 80kg (176lb) -- in order to better understand his obese gym clients.

Despite regular health checks showing that he is already developing blood pressure, liver and kidney problems, he would still like to complete the job that he started in January.

Here is the news article.  Have a look at the picture, and ask yourself why anyone -- much less someone who was capable of achieving an underwear model's body -- would choose to do that to himself.

Unbelievable.

I had heard about this on a gay interest newsite (in the gay world having more than 1% body fat is a cardinal sin) and thought it was really interesting.  However, his logic is a bit flawed, in that he insists it is easy to lose weight.  Anyone will tell you that the weight you recently put on is much more easily lost than the weight you've been carrying around for years.  Just ask pregnant women, granted they still struggle, but they are able to more or less get back into shape, particularly if they were physically active before they gained weight.

I find this really self-destructive.
