ELOO in Europe
« on: March 31, 2009, 10:51:57 PM »

I'm in Romania right now.
Do you think Europe has other names for ELOO? The other options are Canola, Walnut...what else can I take plain - just oil, no nose clipping?

I'm in Portugal and we have no ELOO. The next best thing is EVOO/ELOO mix which we use for frying, it's cheaper than EVOO.
In Spain however there is ELOO, just by another name ("mild tasting").
You can even have vegetable oil, the kind for frying, it's usually flavorless.

I use organic, but processed canola, which gives me better AS than ELOO.  I'm in Canada.

I am in Ireland, all the brands were "light and mild" or "mild and light", there was no extra light or extra mild. Can use translators to get Romanian words.

if it is a pale yellow in color it is probably what you want.

EVOO is green.

I haven't tried ELOO since it seems to be unavailable in Ireland.  Today I found Filippo Berio Mild & Light Olive Oil.  It has much less taste than the rapeseed oil (Canola) which is pretty flavourless anyway.
I'm going to finish the 250ml bottle I bought and see how it goes.

That is ELOO, just marketing difference in the label.
