not losing a ounce
« on: December 14, 2008, 01:15:50 pm »

Hi guys,
I like to know what I'm doing wrong. I posted before and I was asking why I'm not losing like all the others. I did lost like 2-3 pounds a couple weeks ago and that was it. And I'm doing this diet now for 2 month. I thought this is it. I take a shot glass of ELOO every morning. I have nothing 1 hour before and nothing 1 hour after. I'm better with eating. I'm not so hungry. I eat less. Why does it work for others? Losing 2 pounds a week would be great. I eat less and I lose nothing. What is going on? Please any idea?

Hi Peanut,

I've been struggling alot this go around too. My suggestion is patience and more patience. Perhaps you need more oil ( flavorless  calories ) And have you  double checked the actual calories you are eating. Maybe its  too much for your metabolism. Yes I know this sucks as an answer. Its been a problem for me too. On the other hand perhaps you need to eat more because you are not eating enough. Eating more may mean only one more food item a day not like two cheeseburgers but you know what I mean, right? I feel your pain. :?

Good Luck

You may be "eating less" in quantity, but are you eating healthy foods?

I think one of the keys to the weight loss I've experienced has been that not only am I eating less, but when I am eating I'm making a conscious effort to eat healthy foods (e.g. lots of salads, etc.)

Good luck and stick with it!

Hi -- maybe have a look at Seth's book again?  There are lots of tips.  I know it feels counter-intuitive but you probably need MORE oil for it to work.
And eat a variety of foods, mix up your flavors and try to avoid junk food and alcohol.  (Those are the things that work for me, plus exercise helps a lot with stabilizing appetite).  Good luck!!

Also Heidi has had great success with nose-clipping.

I've been struggling also.  I find the early discussion threads to be useful.

One additional comment, the weight lose is not constant, from my experience after 3 to 4 weeks the weight lose drops to about 25% of what is was at the start. I lost 2 - 3 lbs a week at the beginning then it dropped to less than 1 lbs after about 4 weeks.

Hi, Maresa,

Give us more info.  How much do you need to lose, how old are you?  What else do you eat?

Are you exercising as well as dieting?  I haven't lost as much weight as I have wanted to, but recently I have found that my clothes are literally hanging off of me.  I have a belt that I had worn when I weighed 20 lbs less than I currently do, and am past the hole I used then!  So I'm obviously both losing weight, but gaining muscle mass at the same time, so the scale isn't moving, as much as I think it should, but my clothes are fitting better, and that's the important thing for me anyways!
