News:

I came across SLD last weekend on the Freakonomics site. I decided to try it and WOW. I have never known anything like the AS effect I get from 2 x 20ml canola oil (known as rapeseed oil in the UK). I've tried various prescription drugs and non-prescription supplements for AS in the past - nothing comes close to this. I can turn down junk food even when it's literally handed to me on a plate - for me that is HUGE. -- sld uk

Some of you are doing the 'power of ten'.  how are you finding it??
would it be suitable for an obese beginner (me :))
and can it be done at home without gym equipment?

does it really work?

i'm considering that or 'the slow burn fitness revolution'

what do you think?

thanks

Nougat I think it would be great for you. I think either program ( they really are very similar) are geared especially towards people who are not big exercisers in the first place. You will definately feel it working. Your muscles will be challenged and the more lean muscle mass the better.

It does work but I still need more cardio than either author recommends. Who knows why? We all need  to tweak this a little bit one way or another. As you get stronger you may find that you want to do more cardio as well.

I say give it a shot. The time commitment is minimal and he gains are great. :)

Hey lil' Nougatina, I believe power-of-ten is recommended to be done with gym equipment since you go to failure with lifts.
Any and all exercise will work it's magic, if you commit to it for a while.   Key point though - the magic comes after the work - not instead of it.  : )  The trick is to find something that you enjoy and is challenging.  If you don't enjoy it, you won't keep it up, and if it isn't challenging, your body won't respond.  What exercise are you doing currently?
