I made it! 22 lbs in 10 weeks
« on: August 18, 2008, 05:10:43 PM »

Woohoo! I've made it!

I'm a 20 year old, 5'3" female. Started SLD about 2 months back when I was 64 kg. I'm 54 kg now! Don't remember the last time I weight this light. I've always been a slightly chubby girl.

During 10 weeks in SLD, I've tried ELOO, sugar water and noseclipping.
All three of them give good AS. However, I found that it's hard to have 2 hour window with sugar water. More or less because I drink it in 30 min - 1.5 hour. I felt hungry 30 minutes after I finish SW. That's why I switched to noseclipping. :)

Btw, my journey and progress is here: http://boards.sethroberts.net/index.php?topic=6384.0

For those who are still on SLD, good luck! You'll reach your goal someday! SLD is like a miracle for weight loss. Thanks so much, Seth and everyone in this forum who gave great support!

f4000 that is so great!  CONGRATULATIONS!   I hope you drop in on us from time to time.  Really inspiring.  I hope you are very happy with your deserved success.

By the way you might want to check out Stephen (Ethesis) threads-- he has been on maintenance for a long time and recommends still taking the oil but at a lower dose, so your set point stays low and you don't gain again.  I think he's had really long term success with this.

His thread's here: http://boards.sethroberts.net/index.php?topic=188.0

I wish you the very best and hurray for you again!  Well done!

Congratulations fast one (4000)!     Not so idle!  Great you are inspired to start exercising more.
You probably already know: you have been eating so little (500-1000 calories a day, it looks like)  that you won't have the energy for exercise.  If you want to keep your calories low it's important that every one counts - as it is near impossible to get sufficient nutritional support from less than 1000 calories a day.  Be well!

f4000 I missed this thread!!! I'm very happy for you, 10 kg in 2 months is remarkable and a great inspiration. It serves to remind me it can be done! I wish you drop by from time to time and give us news about your maintenance!
Big big hugs!!!  :D

Thanks, pinkmug..

I haven't been around for quite sometimes.
I've been fast walking + running 5 - 6 km for 3 - 4 days a week and swimming 5 days a week @ 750 m.
I noseclip a glass of milk a day (It's like 100 kcal), and eat whenever I feel hungry.
My weight stayed at 54 - 56 kg, but my waist circumference has decreased by 3 inches since I reached my goal. I think it's because of the cardiovascular exercises.
I had diarrhea last week and lost 2 kg due to no appetite. I'm now 52 kg. I didn't noseclip for a week and haven't gained the weight back. So I guess I'll start SLD whenever I think I'm putting on some fat..

So.. this is me early 2008.. 69 kg

and before I start SLD... 64 kg

and now.. 52 kg

Mommy said I look too skinny.. It's time for muscle building, I suppose. LoL.

Wow!  Thanks for coming back and posting about your continued success.  You look fantastic (but you looked really beautiful even before you lost the weight).  That's great to hear about your exercise.  You must be feeling SO good.  And finally your mother thinks that you are too thin!!!

Wow f4000! You look fantastic! I am actually in a very similar position to what you were in when you started at 5"4 and 63kgs.  And I love exercising as well so I am very encouraged by your results.

Incidently did you cut down on any particular food groups when you were on SLD? I find that I have quite an addiction to sugar so I am considering giving up white sugar all together (other than the 2 tbsps I take daily along with 2 tbsps Oil). This means that although I may not want to eat the 3rd cookie I just keep going....very frustrating!

Congrats! You look gorgeous (I think you looked lovely before you lost the weight too).  You must be very happy with your success, and you're a big encouragement to us all.  Thank you for dropping back to visit us again.  One day soon I will be on the "I made it!" page too!  (12 lbs down so far).

WooHoo! And I agree with everyone here that you were a total babe pre-SLD. As long as you're happy and satisfied and HEALTHY, it's all good.
