Sanity is questionable :D

It's good to be back. Not planning to have life own me as it did this spring and summer. Got a groove going on for school already as well as my classes.

I'm thrilled to see a lot of the long-term folks still here and losing! SLD is not a magic wand for VSSP Club members, but it does work.

BTW - what is RAGBRAI?  I love the picture of you on the recumbent trike!  I think I could get into that.  How about hills?  How easy is it to do hills on your Trike?

RAGBRAI--Register's Great Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa

www.ragbrai.org  10,000 of my closest friends and I (and Lance) all on the road together for a week. Fun times.

As for the hill thingie, it's only as fast as the engine pushing it (and I'm slow). Generally, it is a bit slower than an upright, but *oh* the downhills :D :D :D And if you get tired, you pull off and recline for a bit. And you can go as slow as you need to and you don't fall over.

I read about your job search/Plan B--good luck with all of that!

Oh!  I've heard about this!  My DH was a cyclist for awhile in his teens and twenties.  The interesting thing (secret) is that Iowa isn't completly flat!  About how many miles do you cover in a day?

Diane! Good to see you.

Whenever somebody disappears for a long time, I suspect the worst. You can tell I'm fun at parties.

The trolls at RAGBRAI central plan most days to be 60-70 miles. I've seen a @50 mile day and a @80 mile day.

He needs to ride next year. The forums are clamoring for a Southern Iowa route--it's been I-80 and above. This last year was the 3rd or 4th flattest ever--only @1300 feet climb, mostly on the last three days. Southern Iowa has long hills pretty much across the whole state.

frenata--I invoked your name in a new thread over in "Why aren't I losing"--person is yoyoing but has some taste and is wondering which is causing the lack of weight loss.

You were one of the people who would randomly come to mind while I was up to my ears in school stuff. I'm not sure what that portends--probably nothing good. ;)

Hey Diane, it's lovely to see you back. Glad you've been in a groove. And the ride sounds fantastic.

Re: Diane: No clue how long--holding pattern

I love grad school.

Went off the oil in January because was having ulcer-type issues. Finally got all that resolved, but couldn't (didn't make myself!) get back into the groove of noseclip and oil. But the weight was steady.

So--I'm in the saddle again. :D We'll see how long the next 15 pounds takes. *evil laugh*

And...

Still VSSP... added exercise to the mix. Got muscles! Still slowly losing.

This works! Still loving the appetite suppression.
