I've lost 85 lbs. and I have 25 lbs. to go and I just. Can't. Quite. Process that idea. I'm at a new job where no one knows that I used to be incredibly heavy and there's even a really cute fellow faculty member who seems to like me.  He smiles at me.  A lot.  It's nice.  Everything is so . . . fantastic.  -- Del

Walnuts instead of oil.
« on: June 05, 2008, 10:20:29 pm »

I'm trying this with walnuts now. They are high in fat (omega 3) and also contain fibre and protein.
I can't take the way the oil feels in my stomach so I've been experimenting with other foods. I tried avocado but that didn't work out very well cause it took forever to eat with a nose clip on and it still upset my stomach.
Walnuts seem to be working. I'm on day two and I think AS is beginning to set in. My dosage is 2 x 1/3 cup walnuts dailly which is approx. 600 calories. Walnuts would also be good cause they're easy to carry around in pre-measured baggies.

Great idea!  But are you taking them in a flavour-free way, such as using noseclips?  Otherwise you may just be feeling full from eating 600 high-fat, satiating calories.  To get the setpoint lowering benefit, they need to be flavour-free calories.

Keep us posted on your experience.  We love lab rat self-experimentation around here! :D
