TOM and i have a love hate relationship.  i hate all the pms and bloating and cramps  but i've been getting irregular this last year.  so i suspect its on the way out. (i'll be 48 in april)  but i love all the good things that our hormones do.  ie protect us from illnesses.... so i am not looking forward to being more vunerable.

this last month i got tom after just 3 weeks!!!  tho often i am up to 10 days late - and this after being mostly regular all my life ( me too since 11 years old)

Yeah, karky, but you're a much younger puppy, aren't you?

Nougat, I'm same age as you (48 in July) and also getting irregular.  I've missed totally twice in the past 2 years, and other times go only about 23 days.  But you're also right that I will miss it in a way.  I know it's all part of life, but it is a BIG sign of the passage of time.

I think I am past ready for some springtime.

And as I speak, I look out the window and there is a deer in my yard!

Beautiful pictures Karky! Thanks for sharing them.  I love seeing wildlife, it always lifts my spirits.  What kind of tree is the raccoon in?  It looks like persimmons.  I love persimmons!

It is an apple tree
antique variety.  I am not sure what kind.  Little old lady lived in the house for over 50 years and it was here when we bought the property.
they are green when ripe, and slightly sour.  Makes really tasty applesauce!
now they are all fermented.
the racoon was in the tree for over 2 hours, and was slightly falling down drunk when he left.
the deer stand on their back feet and eat out of the tree
and some of the turkeys flew up in the tree and ate, and knocked a bunch out for the rest.

It's been too long a winter.  I'm hallucinating my favorite foods.  If only the mounds of snow would melt, I'm sure they'd been green things poking up.

Interesting that the apples are green when they're ripe, and then they turn so red when they ferment.  I wonder if the animals like the drunken effect, or if they're just so hungry that they eat whatever's available.

actually the apples are brownish and would be rottenly mushy if they weren't frozen.

I wonder if the animals like the drunken effect, or if they're just so hungry that they eat whatever's available
I am going to say both.    drunken, staggering racoons are definitely a sight to see.  :)

Looks like it's going to be a white Easter.
yuck
I want my daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths to poke out and bloom.

we had more snow for the last 2 Easters (last year we had 18 "; this year 8") than we had for Christmas (no snow).  I really want spring now.

WOW Karky what lovely pix and how lucky that you have such animals visiting you!!!
we have a very high population compared to the size of our island so most people see other houses when we look out of our windows!!  what a luxury to have space!!  the regulation space for new houses is 10ft at the front off the pavement and 15 ft at the back for a yard (courtyard) or garden.  tiny tiny tiny.
however its lovely and sunny!!
my tiny balcony is full of geraniums and the judas tree in our front 'garden' is in full bloom!

i will post some pix soon in my own thread ( i don't wish to hijack yours dear)

can i copy some of the wildlife pix you posted??  i'm a (very) amateur artist and i'd like to try my hand esp the badger!!!

yes if you want full sizes email me and I will send them  I have more cool ones I didn't post here.
and talk all you want in my thread.  I don't mind one bit, it's like rambling with my friends.

I have more wildlife in my yard than you could shake a stick at,
last night at 1 am coyotes woke me up yipping outside my bedroom window but I couldn't see them when I got up to look.

My property is L shaped.  I have 3 lots in the front and 1 in the back
45 feet X 125 feet each
with the field in the back, we get a lot of animals.
the neighbor says he saw a cougar back there.  And a black bear.    I haven't seen either.

so it looks like

street                      X = 1 lot    Y = my parent's property   short of 2 lots we own the whole block  8)   I am lucky to live next to my mom and dad  8)  8)
 X  X  X  Y  Y
 X  Y  Y  Y  Y
    field
