Thanks and I agree... I am not changing a thing and for the first time I do not feel discouraged... I feel like I need to just hang in there and see what happens...

Hi Mash,

You might consider http://boards.sethroberts.net/index.php?topic=4169 - not certain any of it's relevant to you, but worth checking.

Hi. is it okay to take pure olive oil instead of ELOO? it doesnt say on the bottle if it is extra virgin oil or extra light but just says pure. but it is quite light and goes down easily with no taste. so im thinking it is not EVOO since people say it is quite thick.
please advise!

It is almost clear???? The extra light stuff is pretty clear and definitely tasteless..

If you can't taste it at all..maybe it's okay..but I am skeptical..

No, but ELOO works, makes most of us feel healthy, improves our skin and hair ... why bother with anything else?

If you don't have any taste, give it a try and see what happens.

Interestingly enough, every time I've added a little sugar water to the ELOO, I've found I need a lot more ELOO than with ELOO alone.

I'm still sorting things out, including the effect of ditto foods (especially the type you would call junk food).

I think that with ditto food I can actually push my set point up a full ten pounds.  It has gotten too hard to be worth the effort, but it has been an interesting experiment, with a lot of work.  I find I get resistant to ditto foods, so I have to keep cycling them.  Then I have left over ditto food no one wants to eat -- I've started to give it away at the office.

Can you use Coconut Oil instead of ELOO?

Some people have had success. Most haven't. For me, it was the least effective of all...it seemed to make me hungry.

Just about everybody goes through a phase where they rebel at the idea of a not especially nutritious oil like ELOO and try to use something that's better for you. Thing is, it's the ELOOs and the refined walnuts and the canolas that seem to help people lose weight.

When I hit goal, then I'm going to experiment. Until then, I know ELOO works for me.

I do ok with it. You need to be careful to either use unflavored (flavor removed such as Spectrum or LouAna, the latter available at WalMart), or take Virgin Coconut Oil noseclipped or holding breath with a chaser of sweetened water to swish and drink to remove flavor and scent. I think I had better weight scale-related loss results with Macademia Nut Oil which is very much in qualities like ELOO. But I want the thyroid support and other touted, alleged benefits of coconut oil.

Dear Stephen,

I have been careful for upto four days on both the oil and then the sugar water but with no effect on my appetite (huge as usual)

Because I lead quite a disrupted life (I travel all the time) and possibly as it seemed to be having no effect I have not gone futher than four days in a row. Is it normal that AS doesn't kick in immediatley?

I see you combine both sugar and oil in one dose. Such a good idea, does Seth think it works as an alternative to two daily doses? (not that he is God or anything, well almost)

Could use a bit of feed back to get me started, thank you

People try all sorts of things.

As for how long it takes for AS to kick in, one major thing is whether or not you've been dieting or not.  The more you diet, the longer it takes, because your weight is probably under your set point.

I'd suggest that you do what I did on my last trip.  For ten days I used the "midnight oil" routine (set up oil and a cup, when you get up in the middle of the night, drink it).  When my life is disrupted, that seems to really work well, as I always end up sleeping and if I drink a cup of water before I go to bed I can count on waking up in the middle of the night.  That way I don't have to find time in the middle of the day.

Try that for ten days, always using the same oil.

I tried Enova for a while.  Finished the bottle, went back to something cheaper.

These days I'm using a blend of extra light olive oil and walnut oil.

Wish you luck.  Sorry about the delay in answering you, but I was out of country and away from the internet for a while, and I have to confess I don't log on here as often as i might.

Hi. is it okay to take pure olive oil instead of ELOO?

The way olive oils are graded the most flavorful - the Extra Virgins - are considered the highest quality.  "Pure" olive oil is considered one of the lowest grades because it is less flavorful, and therefore ideal for SLD use.
