Started May 23, Have lost 16 pounds
« on: August 03, 2008, 03:00:57 pm »

I've been on this diet for about 9 weeks now. I've lost 16 pounds. I lost the first 10 very quickly, the first month. The oil had an almost immediate affect on my appetite. I'm still trying to figure out how this works for best for me. After the first month I stopped being so regular with the oil, taking only a tablespoon or two every other day, and my weight loss slowed. The past week I've been better, I take two tbs of olive oil every day, though I'm thinking I might raise it to three or space the amount so I'm taking the oil twice a day instead of once. The only thing I've intentionally changed about my eating habits is I gave up soda almost completely. I would credit that with my weight loss if it weren't for the fact that I unintentionally upped my beer intake instead (I just really like to have some type of beverage with my meals I guess). I think I eat less but it's very hard to tell because it really does not feel like I eat less. I keep expecting the weight to start climbing up again, especially when I feel I've been eating a lot, but it hasn't at all. At worst it's stayed the same for a few weeks and that's when I wasn't taking the oil every day.
I started out at 196, I'd like to get down to about 140, or where ever I feel comfortable. I'm trying this out experimentally, and I'm not following any other diet or calorie counting. I don't like dieting in the traditional sense, I don't want to do it, that's why I'm trying this.

Congratulations...  :D I just started about a week and a half ago and have lost 2.5 lbs.  I am amazed at my lack of cravings and low appetite.  I can't wait to get to the same point that you are at.  I guess I was hoping for instant results.  I do have to say this is the easiest method.  No counting, measuring (except for the Tablespoons...)  I am just trying to make the most of eating nutritionally...  Do you take vitamins?
