nougat's journey
« on: April 03, 2007, 09:37:27 PM »

Tomorrow will be my first full week on SLD and i am scared of getting on the scales...
 - i usually can't look at chocolate without wanting to gobble up the whole bar (and frequently did)  but now i have no especial cravings for it - not for crisps biscuits cake etc etc.
i'm using isio4 oil and almost immediately had AS.  i get very thirsty so am drinking more.  last weekend i went with the family to a pizza parlour and whilst i usually eat up mine and eye my youngest's 'so as not to waste any he can't eat'  to my amazement  i could only eat half of my own!! as i have a lot of weight to lose i'm taking 2 T in the morning and 2 T in the afternoon. the time tends to vary.  also i'm eating the food i usually would . no crazy spicing no noseclipping no protein shakes.
i hope this works for me.....i can't bear being fat any more....when ever i've lost weight in the past (once 15 kgs and once 10kgs)  it just all came back on plus, cos i could not keep on such restrictive diets it was too hard for me.....
tomorrow's the big day when i weigh myself....
wish me luck!!!

Excellent! You guys and your fancy-schmancy euro-kilos only get half as many milestones as us imperials and our pounds  :P

If I had a pharmaceutical scale, I'd measure me in ounces. Sixteen milestones to the pound!

What a great idea!  We could all convert our pounds to ounces, and think how impressive a 1-kilo loss would be then - over 35 OUNCES LOST IN 1 WEEK!  Congrats, nougat, on your amazing 35-ounce loss!

second week.  hmmm. only 0.4kg.  i feel disappointed but perhaps can forgive myself for eating some of the easter goodies that are in the house.  we've had a stressful week. my husband's father passed away on sunday. we had a couple of restless nights and erratic meals...hmmm hope there will be a greater loss next week.
today for breakfast i had porridge oats just cooked with water and no sweetener...does that count as a tastless food??

It's not completely flavorless, but there is some SLD benefit in merely bland food. If you could stand to eat it with a noseclip, it would be even better, but bland is good.

Nougat,

I'm sorry to hear about your father in law. I hope your husband and children are ok.

Oh, gosh, I completely missed the thing about your father in law. My eye went right to the oatmeal.

I am sorry. Don't worry too much about things like diet when you have a crisis to deal with.
