Diluted cranberry juice might help, too.

Clarinette, you might want to read The Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman PhD

There is controversy in the medical establishment about whether or not the liver needs to be detoxified (the liver detoxifies the body). But nutritionist Ann Gittleman believes that it does, with the backing of various well-known doctors in the public eye:

You know, another little thought (I'm off to bed after this) is,

When AS is working really well for me, I have a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, like it's all tied up or there's a rock in there. Is that your feeling, Clarinette? Or is it something else?

If it's that, I wouldn't worry: I think that is the normal "strong SLS effect" feeling. I always have it when I'm losing weight fast on SLD.

Thank you girls to be supportive..

Hi Pinkmug: The milk do I have to buy or can I make it myself?

Hi losing-it : I will try my best to get the info about the Flash Flush Plan. Thank you it might be a great idea.

Hi AnnH and thank you for the thoughts.:  My palms seemed to look normal. They are not especially red . This morning so far I feel good and last night I was ok too. I didn't do more SLD's Calories for now. I am just waiting to take my normal breakfast. AnnH,  I do have also this feeling of a rock in my stomach. That I kind of feeling doesn't disturb me that much because I like if it is to stop me from eating but I really feel sick with the pressure that I feel in my head, neck gland and the red hot face impression , red hot ears, and hot irritation of my skin on my face.  It is very probable that my liver have some difficulties with me and my fast lost of weight right now. I will make sure to eat a good healthy diet to help my liver functions for a while. I looked at the kind of food that could help and I will direct my intake toward that kind of food.

Thank you all again. I think that it is important for me to stick around and to talk about my difficulties on the forum. Many others might experience some similar sensation but quit the forum instead of talking. I personally don't want to miss the boat. I don't want to loose my chance to maybe be thin just because I didn't try enough of this Shangri La Diet... I also want to say that through my in-comfort of yesterday, I still lost 1 pound lol..... At least that is my reward for now and for the rest, I think that I will find the answer with the help of other Shangri La dieter...as you girls.... Thank you very much for your suggestions and your support...
Clarinette :)

Hi Clarinette, it's great that you are hanging in there despite feeling so off!
I guess since we are all so individual, we will all react differently.  I felt pretty off some days when I started - adjusting to the oil, and I lost alot really quickly because the AS hit hard at first, and I was busy and so didn't eat.  Loosing so quickly and not eating scared me and REALLY knocked me about. (My grandmother used to say" an empty sack can't stand upright". )  One month into this, I'm still adjusting my routine.  Mpq recommended taking a little SW after the oil and that has helped me tolerate the ELOO better.

All that said, if you are feeling pressure in your head, I'd play it safe and pop into your doctor for a quick check-up.  If nothing else, it will put your mind at ease.

Thank you Maggie

Thank you loosing-it for the ticker sites etc. It will be fun to play a little around.

Today, I felt GOOD, GREAT, FANTASTIC, ME AGAIN, HEALTHY, CALM, SUPER, AND MORE  :D. I took my breakfast without my nose clip.  I felt good after. 1 hour later or so I had a Grapejuice noseclip(about 75 Calories). I felt great after. Later during the day had my lunch. Felt great again. No funny symptoms. I had my diner and I feel full but no symptoms. I still have a strong AS but it doesn't pressure my head, face, neck. Tonight later before bed, I might have about 100 calories of yogurt nose clip again and see how I am doing. So far I feel so much better. I think that I found my answer. It felt so good today. Thank you God for my luck :)

Great, Clarinette!

A last (I think! :) ) consideration from me: Several women who've lost a lot of weight have reported on this forum having menopause-ish symptoms, like "hot flashes"--hot face and ears, etc, like you described. Several have also gotten the night sweats (including me). We decided that it was likely due to hormone amounts changing: fat cells affect your estrogen amount in your body, and losing a lot of weight quickly also affects that. (Never heard about pressure feelings, though.)

Part of your icky feelings could be related to estrogen fluctuations tied to losing weight. Neh? Take care and keep it up!!!

Ann H

I really think that it is too much SLD Calories. I know that for me it is very strong. My AS is really ,really strong whatever I do, Noseclip, Oil or Sugar. I eat just a little and my body want to explode when I do so and that is why I think that I am experiencing hot flashes, red blushing face etc. Too full like feeling and it is always after having food. So now, I will reduce the amount of SLD calories for a while and see how things are going. I am so happy though that I stayed around and tried again and again. I am just at my beginning but at least I have a good idea of how to control my symptoms. I think that tonight I won't be able to take my SLD's Calories. I am already too full. :o)
Thank you AnnH for helping me that is very kind of you

I had that hot feeling too - usually at night and mainly when I was losing the most weight, not so much now on maintenance.  Now it happens to me occasionally when I bump up my dose - it think it's just an indicator of weight loss rather than a real hormonal thing.  I welcome it because it means something's happening!

Glad you are feeling better Clarinette.  :)

Glad you are feeling better Clarinette.

Me too Clarinette!  I was concerned that the pressure feeling could have been related to high blood pressure, and I always go for the "better safe than sorry" approach.  You are obviously on a better path now, which is just terrific!

I've found that's both really good and the really challenging aspect of SLD - tailoring it to suit you, your body and your schedule.  Thank goodness for this forum to get us all through!

Hi Maggie,
It is very much that SLD has to be adapt to each of us and by each of us. I find it just amazing that this theory works as much as this. Just amazing and it is very nice to see the people on the forum repporting there progress.

go2grl,
It seems as you said, if I bring up the dose I will experience again the hot feeling. I think that more I will want to loose weight more I will have to accept that feeling that I kind of don't like or I will loose a little more slowly to minimize those sensations. Very weird.

AnnH... Thank you again. I would like to say to you that, the fact that I am french doesn't help me to express myself in the correct way sometime. I hope that I didn't offend you in any way the way I talked back.. Sorry if I did...It is a little hard for me to really express what I mean ''in English''. I think that you are right about the hot flashes. They are definitely du to a lost of weight but would say that it is push by the dose of SLD Calories that we take. I have lost a lot of weight in my life and I never experience that kind of sensation before. So I associate the feeling to SLD only. To acknowledge it, makes me feel better. I can decide to feel or to not feel that way adjusting my dose. Witch is very cool in a way.... More I want to loose more I just go for the hot flashes....but I think that I will take a brake for now of the hot flashes lol..

I gain a little this morning. There is two time in the months where my weight goes up....during TOM and during OVULATION. Now it's up and will probably go down in two days. :)

Life is soooo goood........ Have a Good day Everyone

Eh??? I wasn't offended by anything at all. Well, first, I am one of the hardest to offend people on the planet. But then, you didn't say anything that would offend anyone--even those easily-offended folk--I think. :)

Hi clarinette,
Je comprends ce que tu veux dire, je suis démenagé a Québec de l'ouest Canadien il y a 12 ans, et je ne parlé pas qu'un peu de français.  It was very difficult to express myself in a conversation, even after a few years.  Now of course I am ok, and have developed my own personality in French.  I still make some errors in my phrasing and verb conjugation, but my husband (a francophone, finds it cute.)  I work now almost exclusively with Francophone clients.
do you live in France?

It is amazing to hear of how good of an appetite suppression you get.  WOW!  I wish I could get that.

Hi Jenn,

I am Québecoise but move out West to get married with a French-Anglophone man out here.  He was from Ottawa but have been working in Alberta almost all his life. I didn't know how to speak English very much till I got here. I was 31 years old. Not easy to learn at that age ...lol I do understand very well, I do speak English but with this huge accent that I would get rid of if I could. I get laughed at by my daughter and my husband a lot. Especially when I get mad and I want to express something mean!lol . I do have some french friends but really, most of my friends are English and I think that it is a good thing to adapt to integrate and be happy to do so. I am happy to be in Alberta and will be happy to get back to Québec at my retirement :) ....By the way, your french sounds very good :)

Clarinette,
I was born in Saskatchewan and moved out east. I followed love, and I stayed here.  Looks like we all move around for the men huh!
Well, I have an english accent when I speak french, it is not huge though, and I know all of the QC slang.  I can talk like my teenagers...ha ha.  Don't worry about your french accent, anglophones find it very sexy.  Just as many francophones here have told me they think my accent is cute, or sexy.
now just to get that "sexy" body to match our accents huh!  Lets go SLD!

(I have 2 sisters that live with their husbands in AB.) one in Red deer and one in Calgary
