This is a list of helpful appetite suppression beverage ideas that I've compiled from the web (with source links) to help when AS is just not kicking in, or when I get munchies. Maybe some of these might help other SLDr's, too. (There are probably lots of other foods, herbs, supplements, methods such as exercise, acupuncture, when to drink fluids, when not to drink fluids, making sure to eat protiens etc. that can help with AS when needed.) A few of the foods & drinks below are ones I use, myself, many others are newer to me, and ideas to possibly try. - losing-it

APPETITE SUPPRESSION - BEVERAGES THAT CAN HELP
BEVERAGES
Water:
Water is a powerful appetite suppressent, and if you drink an 8-ounce glass of water when you first start feeling hungry, you will find that it suppresses your appetite in nearly every case. If you just drink a full glass of water and have the discipline to wait 10 minutes, you will find that your appetite is either completely gone or dramatically reduced.

And a bun you ate during this time apprehensively will reduce whole week’s efforts to zero. So you should replace tempting dishes by subcaloric and more wholesome ones. Mineral non-aerated water with fruit or vegetable juice (not tomato one, as it increases hunger) will be good for it.

Green tea’s polyphenols can increase the levels of cholecystokinin (CCK), which is actually a hormone that suppresses food consumption; it can also increase your body metabolism for more fat burning and acts as powerful antioxidant to protect your from harmful free radicals.

Here is a tip how you can make coffee a wonderful natural appetite suppressant: Make a cup of cappuccino, with fat free milk, sprinkle some cocoa on top, another natural appetite suppressant, and add a little sweetener. Have it with 4 almond nuts.
If you want something really hardcore, try this. I used it when I was dieting for competition. Just make yourself a cup of black coffee with no sugar and add in a tablespoon of olive oil! It will slap you silly and make you alert and the olive oil with have a good source of fats with kill you appetite.

The key is to get organic vegetable broth that does not contain excitotoxins. These are ingredients that cause neurological disorders because they overexcite and harm nerve cells. Those ingredients are MSG, yeast extract, autolyzed yeast extract, hydrolyzed vegetable proteins, and other similar ingredients.

Instant "banana pudding": Add a quart of soy milk to the blender, then a couple of scoops of unsweetened banana-flavored simply natural spirutein soy protein powder [or add banana or favorite flavoring extract to protein powder]. Add stevia powder as the sweetener...[you can] toss in some supergreens powders, but you may want to avoid that at first, since it's an acquired taste (and it turns your banana pudding green). If you were to blend this up, you'd have a banana-flavored soy protein shake...while the blender is running, put in about 1/2 tablespoon of guar gum powder, plus another 1/2 tablespoon of xanthan gum powder. These are thickeners. Within seconds, your blender will start whining and the whole mixture will attain the consistency of pudding. Now just pour it into a bowl and eat it like banana pudding! The mixture has near-zero carbs, no sugars, and is high in soy protein. Plus, it tastes great and fills you up fast.
