News:

I started at 175 lbs 10 days ago. I don't have a scale, so I don't know how much I've lost so far, but today my pants almost fell off when I was out walking. Of course, instead of being embarrassed, I was ecstatic! -- BJane

Poll: Which oil is best?

A new crack at an old question. You can vote more than once (for those who have tried more than one oil).

By problems do you mean upset stomach?  I have had that occur with every oil I've tried, but only the first few doses.  After my body is used to it I don't have any problems.

I can take the oil for days with no problem then suddenly it makes me so sick . I have to try to convince myself to take it again tomorrow.

I use Smart Balance for a few reasons.  First, and most important for me, it is the lightest tasting oil. I am a supertaster and Smart Balance has the least flavor of any of the oils I have tried.  Second it is advertised as being high in Omega 3 fatty acids which is supposed to be good.  Third it is a blend of soy, canola and olive oil.  I don't travel with oil so it allows me to use any of the three oils with out digestive difficulty if I need to.  Lastly it is low cost - about the same price as other cooking oils.

I used grapeseed oil and had a problem with it - no AS. Now I use noseclipped flaxseed oil and EVOO on alternate days, but I don't know if I have AS from them because I'm also drinking SW during the day. Also, there's no ELOO or canola oil available in the market here in Portugal. So I have to make do with what I have...

I use ELOO.  The only time I have a problem is when I drink it too late to far away from any food.  It makes me sick at my stomach, caused it to cramp and gives me gas.  When I drink it earlier I don't have any problems.

Started with ELOO during the week, with Canola on the weekends.  Switched to Flax in July for weektime use, with Canola on the weekends.  Finally used up my Canola bottle a week ago, now using Walnut on the weekends.  Have had no problems with any of the oils.  My mood has improved the most with Flax, however.  AS has gotten stronger since I started, but I think that's a function of time, rather than the Flax.

Just my first week. Started with Enova. No real problems but a mild morning headache. Switched on Day 3 to ELOO and noticed heartburn (I almost never get heartburn); added Flax Seed Oil Capsules and experienced very heavy heartburn. Switched back to ENOVA on 7th day - no heartburn so far.

I've used most of those, plus flax and salmon oils. With any oil, I get a little nausea up front, which passes. With everything but ELOO, I don't lose weight.

Can I have a related poll? I want to ask the 19 people who answered:

I've used ELOO and I didn't have any problems with it

- How often did you use olive oil before SLD?
---- On a daily basis
---- Occasionally
---- Never

Please please those 19 people answer me THANKS

P.S. Not to hijack Seth's thread I'm posting this in a new thread; PLEASE reply there!!
PPS: I don't get it; the new topic appears on RECENT POSTS but not on POLLS
Anyway, no harm done since I'm modifying it; I'll post a link here later!

here it is, please go there:

I just started but have no problem with Light olive oil.
I had my normal breakfast cereal.
But had to try hard to eat later in the day.
I have not tried SW yet.
I'm happy I only have 21 pounds to lose.
Still hard but think I'll make it this time.

When I started I was taking 150 cal of coconut and 150 of flax. It did not work well
when I started with sugar water it started working.I suspect the sugar water is responsible.
I am on 150 of flax and 150 of sugar water.

D.

I should add as an aside, that I did not stop using CO because I had a problem with it. My reasoning was that I could cook with the CO and use it up that way, but could not cook with the FO. My desision to switch to sugar was based on all the positive posts I had read about using SW.
