First time I ever did it I could not finish my bowl of oatmeal. Before SLD I had never, not ever, been able to not finish anything.

adventures in crazy spiced shakes/smoothies
« on: August 13, 2006, 06:32:24 pm »

i started doing this today.  instead of using spice blends, i'm randomly mixing spices & herbs in a 7 day pill container (i think i got this idea from porkypine somewhere on here).

i'd love to hear which spices/herbs worked or didn't work in your shakes.

today my smoothie had some lemon pepper in it--note to self: lemon pepper makes my throat itch.  OTOH, the smoothie was great for killing my appetite this afternoon.  i'm afraid of crazy spicing gone wrong and having to toss out a perfectly good (but badly spiced) shake w/the expensive protein powder.

any other recommendations or warnings for crazy spicing a shake?

i've already decided not to throw any garlic or onion flavored anything in my shakes  . . .

I use spice blends and shake on about 5 of them. So there can't be any strong elements, which might make the shake unpleasant. Also, they contain reasonable amounts of salt.
