creaky, great response in addition to stephen's.  now i'm hesitant to post as i'm one of the fly-by-nights she's making reference to.  but as you pointed out seth is covering new ground in his book rather than the stuff we all know about nutrition and fitness.

well that is just lame that they delete links--why do they have the software to add them then.  eh, that's just a rhetorical question.

stephen, give me a few days and i'll head over there to respond.  i'm getting over the grumpies from getting my post deleted.

Well, they asked about me, so I responded.  I hope that they don't delete my response for the links, none of which are commercial or spam.

I wrote a post trying to explain how the reviewer would have to do SLD for herself to understand the appetite suppression.
This is the hardest diet to explain to anyone you really have to read the book.

Why do you think I use Firefox as my main browser, popups begone.

Falconcy, I've got Firefox set as my browser too.  Yet I still get the occasional, more persistent pop-ups.  It's annoying.

Get the NoScript extension and any sites you need scripts enabled for, you can allow them, strange sites that use Javascript to initiate popups will no longer bother you. You can get it through the usual Firefox extension resources.

Thank you for the suggestion, Falconcy.  Wow, you know a lot about computers and cooking both.  If I didn't have a BF, I'd be proposing marriage to you.

ok, now i'm really done.  i'm a troll!  the thread has been locked.

its not even worth it to talk to people about SLD when it just turns into a big tug-of-war.   :(

i was going to kick it over there in the exercise forums but maybe as a troll i'm banned now.

This experience with 3FF (3 Fat Fascists!) just illustrates yet again how wonderful Seth is, for his open-minded attitude about experimentation with the dieting process.  Seth does not squelch or delete dissenting posts on his site; he tries to counter them with reasonable responses.  Seth is respectful of others.

Chrianna, honey, they are just Mean Girls over there.  All you did was post the truth; in no way were you trolling.  Hugs.

No, they have a very set idea of what is there community and what works and what doesn't.

Not what I would consider "troll activity" but they see it as anyone from outside.

Interesting, but I wouldn't get my feelings hurt or fight over it.

And my thanks for everyone that posted before they locked the thread.

The reviewer just didn't get it, and had some rather huge filters.  Too bad.

I'm curious how things will look next year ...

////btw////

The reviewer is close to her ideal weight, doesn't find it hard to stay there with a little exercise, sees everything through a neo-calvinist lens of "willpower = weight loss = true virtue" and sees most disagreement from outside as hostility.  She is unable to break through and actually hear people trying to talk to her under those terms.

It is her loss, or not, with the SLD.

But I wouldn't lose sleep over it, there are better things to do.

She was trying, but she wasn't able to give SLD even a week, even though she realized that was at least the time she should have tried it.
