I'm using eloo, 400 cal. a day. I have found that my equilibrium is off somewhat, especially in the morning.I've been on SLD since 6-14 tried sugarwater the first couple of days and switched to eloo for convenience. My cholesterol and AST tests have come down since using eloo.

There were minor unpleasant side effects that went away. The first few times I took olive oil, my stomach was asking my brain questions: What is going on? How am I supposed to act? Sort of a temporary insecurity. Nothing socially dangerous. I found myself just observing what was going on. Eventually, the effect faded and I now have no problem.

After being on coconut oil for a couple of months and not losing much weight, I switched to ELOO to see if it might work better.  I didn't notice any difference in appetite suppression, but the ELOO made me lethargic and depressed, so after eight days I switched back to coconut oil.  I immediately regained my energy and savoir faire.

I'm pretty new to using the forums, have been reading for quit sometimes, since I read about the Diet in Woman's World.  I've did it for about 4 weeks, lost 4 lbs. then went on a trip and didn't do it.  Have started again.

As for the ELOO, I had trouble with my bowels being too loose for about 2 weeks.  But that went away.  I really haven't had any problems.

long-term intravenous feeding in sick infants led to liver failure in some children.  For the most part infants receive Intralipid, made largely of soybean oil; Intralipid is high in omega-6 fatty acids that are known to have an inflammatory effect. Some infants with liver failure were switched to Omegaven, an IV fat mixture made from fish oil (Omega-3 oil), which have been shown to prevent fat accumulation and have anti-inflammatory properties. Most of the infants on the Omega-3 oil had near miraculous recoveries and some were removed from transplant lists.

I have found that many people who are overweight can attribute a lot of that to soy allergys... soy is bad bad... it makes your thyroid shut down... it is in almost all "diet" foods... and there have been studys showing that soy infant formula has caused death in some infants... here is a link on the dangers of soy if anyone is interested

I am taking 2 T of ELOO, but I'm taking both before I go to bed.  I was taking 1 about 10:00 am but at work sometimes I'm out on the production floor and don't get to do it right.  I make Post-it Notes.  Thats when I decided to do it all at night.  I didn't keep up with it on my weekend vacation because I hadn't figured out how to tote oil around without ruining everything in my suitcase.

Thanks for inquiring Sandywings.

This is a very interesting thread. My choice of oil since the end of Sept. has been walnut oil. I have increased my dose from 1 Tbsp to 2 Tbsp twice a day. I have been experiencing bad headaches and a very stiff neck. Not sure if its a side effect of the oil. If anyone else has these symptoms please email me.

Yes, I put 3 TBLS. of ELOO, 1/4 tsp., and water into a small container, stir it up, and drink it down all at once.  I take this at night between 9:30 and 10:00.  It helps to simplify things for me to take the ELOO only once a day.  :-)

I have been taking 3T ELOO since I started almost 2 weeks ago. I started with 2 doses but now do only PM for the convenience. I have noticed no side effects.

I started 9/27/06 with 2 T of eloo and after a week I increased the dose to 3 T per day.  When I feel AS "slipping" I add an extra 1/2 T.  I find that sugar and carbs (bread, cereal, etc) tend to mess with my AS.

The first week to ten days I had an off again on again headache, but have had no other unpleasant side effects.  I did take about a week to gradually increase to dose so I wouldn't develop stomach problems.

I take 1 T when I get up in the morning, 1 T if I'm home in the late afternoon, otherwise, I'll take 1 or 2 T around 8 pm for a daily total of 3T.  I have a flat 1T measuring spoon that I use.  I pour the eloo into the spoon and the place in my mouth.  I don't use any sugar, but I do drink a full glass of water after each dose.

often the thought of taking the oil makes me feel nauseous (usually just my nighttime dose, though)

Hi,

I take grapeseed oil since I didn't find any ELOO in France, as I was concerned with the omega 3/6 rate, I wanted to switch to walnut oil but I tried it only once since it gave me such a huge migraine that I didn't give it a second chance.
Have you tried any other oil ?

Good luck, and don't forget self experimentation is the key.

No bad side effects, into seventh week, taking 2 to 3 tbs ElOO in split dosed.  Only good side effects, better concentration, mood, sleep patterns, and so much more, but it seems to be plateau time for me.  Been stuck at 230 for almost a week, just waiting for the whoosh!!

6 weeks....12 pounds.  Growly stomach, but I'm not fooled....it is not hungry.  When I switched from 2 TBSP to 3 TBSP of ELOO, I had a couple of days of light nausea....another good reason to not eat.  Totally minor inconveniences compared to the major benefits like a way smaller Buddha belly, sleeping like a log and uncommonly soft skin for this time of year when my skin normally resembles that of a lizard.
